In recent years, EU member states, including Greece, host and educate a large number of people who leave their country. This study examines the context of the integration of foreign students -immigrants and refugees- through the education process. The first part of this study examines the main factors related to education of these children in Europe, such as the Europeanization and the institutional framework, the methods managing multiculturalism and the role of the teacher. In the second part of the project, we focus on researching the knowledge, views and perceptions of our country's teachers about the integration factors that we selected. 114 Primary and Secondary education teachers, who work or used to work in the same school as immigrants or refugees answered a questionnaire. Our analysis found that a considerable amount of teachers did not have the knowledge needed to be effective enough in education role to foreigners, despite their daily contact with these children. It was also found that their knowledge and generally their answers differed positively in teachers who had a higher level of education, had received additional training and had more years of experience. Finally, suggestions for further research are included.
