In modern times, every day, there are rapid changes in many fields of human activity. Because of these changes, individuals are forced to shape their lives in the new circumstances required by the new reality and often leave their country in search of a better future in another. In the host country, things are not always easy for migrants and even more difficulties are encountered by children, especially in the school environment.
The school is the place where children spend many hours of their day. There, they know other people, different than them, socialize and interact with them. The aim of the educational unit is to be able to bridge the gap that arises between students due to their separate identity. Teachers and school leadership must design and adopt practices to solve problems, enhance the cooperation and communication of all members of the school community, aiming to promote interculturalism and follow the principles of intercultural education, in order to create a school environment friendly to all children.
The main objective of this dissertation is therefore to investigate whether educational units are in fact one of the most important institutions in promoting interculturalism, as well as to record the attitudes and perceptions of both teachers and school managers on issues related to it.
