This Diploma Thesis focuses on clarify meanings of digital transformation, banking and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending platforms. In the first chapter, are analyzed the meanings of Financial Technologies (FinTech), digital transformation, the key pillars, advantages and disadvantages of digital transformation, the different types that could be effected through digital transformation, as well the security, which the digital transformation could be effected in the banking section. Moreover, in such chapter there is a detailed analysis on the characteristics of FinTech in daily banking transactions.
In the second chapter, are analyzed the impacts and results of FinTech in banking section as well as the entrepreneurship and efficiency of Fintech in banking section because of the use of Big Data. Also, it is important to illustrate the results of FinTech on structure of banking section, strategies of players, regulations and economic stability in this range.
In third chapter, there is an analysis on functions of banks followed by a brief historical overview of the global banking section and growth within the technology development. In the end, there is a Swot analysis for banks.
The fourth chapter states the role and functions of Peer-to-Peer Lending Platforms, the security of transactions across lending and the Swot Analysis of P2P. In fifth chapter comes a comparison between banks and P2P Lending Platforms, strategies and business models of each sector. Finally, by using of data of P2P Platform “Lending Club” I examined the loans of Lending Club, Interest rates, Annually Incomes of borrowers and loan Grades during the period of 2007-2018 in US.
