This dissertation presents the development of a web application for drug interactions using modern big data techniques. In the modern age of multifarmacy, increased environmental pollution, over-consumption of food-medicine and nutritional supplements, drug interactions are at the heart of Medical Informatics and Bioinformatics, and their knowledge is an imperative for health scientists. On the other hand, medical data are rising rapidly due to the entry of technology into the medical field. In our country a huge increase in medical data is expected as the use of the Personal Electronic Health File and the electronic prescription in the Primary Health Care System was mandatory. This makes it imperative to have new modern tools and techniques for managing large data as well as for developing web applications for health.
Thus, to analyze the purpose of the thesis, we enter in Chapter 2 the term "Drug Interaction", as well as the categories of interactions. Then in Chapter 3 we analyze the term "Big Data" and we refer to the medical data. In Chapter 4 we present the techniques and tools used to analyze and manage large data. In order to create the web application, we analyze the tools, web services, programming languages and application development platforms in Chapter 5, defining in the next chapter (Chapter 6) the architecture (high level) and analyzing the process we followed to achieve the goal us. Finally, in Chapter 7 we report the conclusions and the next possible steps.
