This master’s thesis explores the possibility of creating an encrypted digital coin, which will work in parallel to the euro. We investigated the structures and the infrastructure needed to operate efficiently and safely, providing the trading partners with secure transactions and the Greek economy with the elimination of tax evasion and the necessary liquidity to increase its competitiveness. For the purpose of this project a simulation platform was created with the Drupal programming tool (http://unipinetlab.ga/giannadakis/).
