Abstract

The present dissertation is referred to the procurement procedures on behalf of the Greek Army, as well to the legal frame and the regulations, both national and European, that public procurement procedures are subjected to. At the same time, it has been actualized a short presentation of the valid methods of products and service codification worldwide and the data bases as much as it concerns their fundamental functions, on order that it will be a useful guideline tool during a research for changing the way that public procurement operates. Finally, the last part discusses the results of a smaller grade research on the procurement procedures of other European member states armies and a theoretic possibility of turning public procurement back to its national market and producers.
