Parents Schools have been a Greek Institution for many years. 1962 was the first year of their operation in our country and was the outcome of Maria Chourdakiϋs personal initiative. In 1998 they become official National Institution. They went through various organizational changes before they achieved the current operational context. However, despite the input in educational activities, the institution has not been particularly popular. Public education has not exploited the benefits of the institution while pre- school education has not expressed any higher appreciation of its value and operation. A relevant study of the scientific sources and literature reveals that Parents Schools have greatly benefit those who have participated in their activities. However, they have not been exploited to the expected extent. The current research examines whether a Parents School integrated and functioning within the pre-school community can and would be exploited to a higher extent. It also examines the beliefs and attitudes of parents and teachers regarding this option. Therefore the research’s main aim is to analyse the beliefs and attitudes of both parents and teachers regarding the value and usefulness of Parents Schools functioning within the context of the pre-school community, and compare the beliefs of the two target groups. An additional research aim is to detect and compare the factors which may hinder or encourage the smooth operation of Parents Schools in order to explore possible ways of facilitating their expansion. The research will also investigate the perceptions of the target groups regarding the operation of a digital/distance Parents School. Therefore, the aim is the research’s findings to be of value for the wider educational community.
