This master thesis intends to target the sea and ocean Green Economy and the applied
framework for this achievement. The highlights are both renewable energy and alternative
fuels for maritime transportation and the importance of the latter, as it plays a key-role in
global trade.
First, basic concepts on the topic, helpful for an overall approach, are discussed. Furthermore,
the thesis focuses both on the transition towards a Green Economy and on the relevant
key-sectors. These policies must be applied both at a national and an international level,
so that the environmental impacts will be mitigated. Finally, I intend to present personal
statements relevant to this topic.
Notably, a “bridge” between financial growth and environmental awareness must be initiated
in an attempt to target the problem and immediately act toward a solution.
