In this thesis, the first Chapter, as a fundamental principle it was right to be told in detail the concepts that actually structure and constitute the base. So thoroughly, the ways of strategy development and of course methods that correspond to the further understanding of the subject developed, such as Mergers and Acquisitions. Moving on to Chapter 2, reference is made to the term “transport and movement” and also presented a short presentation of the air transport industry worldwide. Specializing in Chapter 3, are being presenting Air transport Industry figures in Greece, and also the Institutional Framework and the impact on the economy. Below to the next two Chapters 4 and 5, is being analyzing the case study of the Acquisition “Olympic Air and Aegean” ,reported all of their financial data before and after the Acquisition, and the whole Acquisition process. Finally an important role are play the conclusion in Chapter 6, that answers on basic questions such as how the acquisition strategically helped Aegean Airlines and how the European Competition Commission allowed the acquisition while in Greece market is being prevailing conditions of duopoly.
