Sensitization of private healthcare professionals in pharmacovigilane.

Τhe current thesis is investigating the subject of pharmacovigilance/drug safety, submitting the most frequently used terminations and commitments, and presenting the principles in various countries and more specifically anδ extended in Greece. Its main section consists of the regulatory framework as well as the responsibilities of the involved stakeholders including a field research is also being presented regarding the sensitization of the Private Healthcare Professionals in pharmacovigilance principles and their harmonization with the current European and Greek legislation. 20, 2012. Due to the limited timeframe 20 questionnaires were sent by email and were received back completed only 10. The people enrolled in the corrected research were friends and colleagues of the author. The collected information was compared with the relevant literature publications as well as with asimilar previous research.The aim of the questionnaire was to record the position og the Healthcare professionals towards the sensitive topic of ppharmacovigilance and collect information related to their trainingon the aforementioned topic, handling of advesre events, willigness of involvement, information and training means. The data management was performed with SPSS 16.0 and descriptive analysis method was used. The field research confirmed the belief that the involved takeholders in pharmcovigilance know exactly their role as well the importance of the topic. Furthermore the majority is aware that both the healthcare and the pharmaceutical companies are obliged to submit adverse events to health authorities. The majority declared that they have not used the yellow card required according to EOF with main raison that they have not dealed an adverse event that worths reporting.
