The constant changes of the current environment require from businesses to continuously adapt to new conditions. Within this ever-changing environment, the company's human resources are one of the most important factors for its success and survival. Therefore, phenomena such as that of presenteeism which are associated with employee health are of major importance. However, the above term is often unknown even for senior executives who are unaware that the phenomenon of the presence of a worker in his work despite being ill is called presenteeism. This study examines the theoretical background of the phenomenon of presenteesim (relation to absenteeism, factors of influence and consequences) and the work characteristics (based on the Hackman’s and Oldham’s model of 1975) in order to establish the relationship between them .For this purpose, a quantitative survey was carried out through structured questionnaires which were sent via email to the participants who reached 121. Based on the findings of the survey, we verified our initial hypothesis about a positive correlation between presenteeism and work characteristics.
