In this topic we will try to examine through the existing literature and references the fishery policy of the EU as started in 1983. Particularly in Chapter 1 we will examine the legal and economic framework that underpins the common fisheries policy which seeks to exercise responsible fisheries and aquaculture to ensure the future of the fisheries sector through this and in the following chapters 2, 3 and 4 will examine the other main priorities of fisheries policy such as the maintenance and management of resources, the policy of catch quotas and the common market organization. In Chapter 5 the political structures will be studied as one of the essentials of the common fisheries policy, whereas in Chapter 6 the new Common Fisheries Policy will be examined as it is understood that the reform affects the performance of fisheries and therefore fishing multidimensional policy. Finally, the work will be completed by an assessment of the CAP in conjunction with the conclusions.
