In the new EU maritime policy, the "Blue Growth strategy" plays a central role. The policies
contained in it, seek to exploit marine resources with innovative actions that will contribute to the
European economy and prosperity.
In the light of international developments, but mainly because of the policy guidelines of
European Union that aim to the protection of the environment and the exploitation of marine
wealth, the "Blue Growth" seems to be the only way, especially after the relatively recent
economic crisis that has affected both Europe and Greece. With this work, we seek to highlight
these policies and best practices that the European experience has created. Therefore, based on
the above, the goal is to explore further the opportunities and prospects of marine resources in our
country.
