This paper addresses the issue of the costs of private clinics in comparison to those of the Greek government. Initially, the work is done an introduction to the basic elements of the Greek Health System. More specifically, described the definition of the health system and the concept of the welfare state is analyzed. Then in the same chapter describes the organizational structure of the Greek Health System, the methods of financing hospitals and sources of financing of the Greek Health System. In addition, it indicates the status of the private health sector in Greece and performed a comparison between private and public health. The next chapter of this thesis deals with theoretical approaches of payment methods of health institutions, focusing on the daily hospital fee, payment in practice, the role of social health insurance funds and the role of the private service sector and private health insurance. Also the costs and financing of health services mentioned in Greece and revenue collection methods and sources of financing of health services. After giving the definition - the importance of financial management then presented and analyzed some financial ratios compared to the 3 major Greek private health groups, the diagnostic and therapeutic Athens center "Ygeia" SA, the Euromedica group and the Voiatriki SA and 2 large public hospitals, the G.H “Ippokrateio” and G.H “Asklipieio Voulas”. The last chapter presents the findings of the investigation.
