The purpose of this thesis is the comprehension of the terms Foreign Direct Investment and Economic Growth. As a result we investigate the relationship between FDI and Economic Growth in Greece, in both theoretical and practical scope. This thesis consists of five chapters.
In the first chapter there is an analysis of the terms Globalization and Multinational Enterprise, in order to have an easier understanding of the term FDI. The last term is being analyzed in the second chapter, in which there is a presentation of the terminology, the formats and the methods of FDI. In the third chapter there is a presentation of FDI in Greece. Furthermore, in the fourth chapter there is a theoretical approach of Economic Growth, in which we can read about the basic theories regarding this matter. In the meantime, there is an analysis of Greece’s performance in terms of Economic Growth. Finally, in the last chapter there is a correlation between FDI and Economic Growth via IBM’s statistical package “IBM/Spss/Statistics/20”.
