With the present master thesis, titled “Construction and facilities of Greek marines, Lessons from the European cases” we intend to make a research of the best depiction of Greek marinas and compare them to the European ones. We will also attempt to suggest some solutions for their best organization and management. In the first chapter, we will see by name all the Greek marinas, describe some of their basic elements, like the number of their berths, basic services offered and their ownership. In the second chapter, we will present the most important marines of countries like Turkey, Italy, Croatia, Spain and France in order to compare all these countries to Greece. In the third chapter, we will analyze the taxation system for yachts and yacht companies and also the terms and conditions to charter a yacht according to Greek legislation. At the end we will propose specific solutions for the improvement of the Greek marine facilities.
