Basic aim of the present study was not to change perceptions and mainly, the practice of many years in the daily exercise of medicine and in the communication with the patients, but to contribute positively in the sensitization and in the enrichment of political, social and scientific questioning in the major subject of optimisation of communication between patients and professionals of health, which is an important parameter in the efficient management and quality of services of health. For the achievement of that objective, there has been done an effort of examination of international bibliography on subjects that concern the rights of patients. Because of the complexity and the generality of the subject, there was elected a central axis that was the rights of patients in urgent situations and mainly in urgent cardiologic problems. Thus, the present study deals with subjects as the obligation for briefing of patient, the consent, the confidentiality, the privacy and the medical secrecy and under which conditions they can be raised. There are presented the more important Statements of the rights of patients, as well as the situation that prevails in Greece. There are reported questions that concern the medical file, the sudden death, the refusal of treatment and the quality of hospital services. Finally, there are mentioned the more important rights of patients in urgent situations and mainly in the department of urgent Incidents and in the sector of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. With the reserve of modification of data with the end of time, the present study did not constitute an innovative process, but a conscientious effort of imprinting the existing situation in the sensitive and always topical subject of the rights of patients.
