Health, defined as the most valuable asset of humankind, is at the same time the only certain investment yielding the highest returns. The citizens’ health preservation and the high rendering of services constitute an important growth and culture index of a country. The nature of Health Services is strongly anthropocentric receiving a significant influence from the use of high technology. The investment rate, regarding mainly the equipment of Private Diagnostic Laboratories with medical devices of new generation and technology, appears to be high worldwide and with a tendency for constant growth. The Capital investments in technology intensive businesses should be effected with particular care and following a proper study of the business and competitive environment within which every business is activated. This study examines analytically and presents all those parameters and requirements needed (organizational-functional-legal-financial) so that the capital investments for the establishment of a Radiological Laboratory can be considered profitable and above all, viable both in the short and in the long run. With the use of acknowledgments which originate from the collection of data through a market research regarding high technology devices, in supply and demand of radiology services, in prices and cost of the rendered services and through the processing of data collected, both the profit making and the viability of the laboratory is proved. The viability and profitability of the large-scale Radiological Laboratories directly depends on the continuous renovation of high technology devices and is evaluated mainly on the basis of the use of specialized, new generation devices which can provide services of great diagnostic accuracy and imaging analysis to specific groups of patients.
