Abstract

The provision of Health Services by private enterprises is constantly developing nowadays. What is observed is a continuously increasing penetration of private enterprises into the Health Services Sector. A series of regulatory, technological, demographic but also strictly business factors have formed the appropriate development field of the specific sector. The financial analysis, regardless of the hype, the Source and the way of presenting the information on which it is based, constitutes a valuable tool for evaluating opportunities and calculating risks. The analysis of economic indicators and amounts, along with the analysis of their fluctuations, is a complicated procedure, which is likely to lead to contradictor results. The financial statements are the main, systematic source of financial data. The purpose for this paper is to examine and compare the financial progress of four private enterprises providing Health Services, listed to the stock Exchange over the period 2000 - 2005. Over these years, a lot of important changes in the private Health Services Sector took place, investing considerable sums of money in products and services of Biomedical Technology, the cooperation with the research departments of foreign Universities for the development of new products, equipment and methods of treatment in the foundation of in vitro-fertilization sections and the creation of specialized units of Diagnosis and Treatment targeting at the fight against specific diseases.
