Abstract

Health is one of the basic factors that influence the welfare of nowadays people and at the same time medical care is one of the basic ingredients of each society - state. But there is a drawback, the cost for medical care - public or private - is very high and it increases continuously. The basic aim of economic since is to examine if the productive factors of a society are well spent in the various alternatives. In the case of health economics now, economic science examines if the factors - funds of the society - are well spent and if they produce satisfactory health services. In case these are not satisfactory or they are too expensive - they require a lot of funds - economic science can suggest ways so as to overcome these difficulties. In this case it will be used the basic tools of the economic science so as to examine the effects of asymmetric information on health economics and medical care.
