This thesis strives to analyze the current situation prevailing in the deep waters and high seas, mainly in terms of the existing institutional and legal framework. These areas are remote and thus difficult to study and monitor in detail. Moreover, because they are far from the commercial and administrative boundaries of states, there is no specific legislation and solid institutional framework regarding their management. These areas are the largest ecosystem on earth and extremely important for the functioning of the planet. They are also characterized by specific climatic and environmental conditions that make them sensitive to anthropogenic activities. ,t is therefore crucial to establish measures for their sustainable exploitation for the benefit of mankind.
