The economic situation of people affects the health indicators such as life expectancy, morbidity, mortality and the access to health services. Specifically, the health systems of the other to the economic crisis facing funding problems because of reduced government spending on health due to the economic crunch and a discontinuity in the external financial assistance from richer countries, covering a large part of health funding.
In particular, in this thesis, we will address the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which is a major public health problem. It is the fourth leading cause of chronic morbidity and mortality in the United States and is expected to rank fifth in 2020 as a global burden of disease, according to a study published by the World Bank / World Health Organization. However, COPD does not receive due attention from the health care community and government officials. A major problem is the lack of information on the causes and prevalence of COPD, particularly in developing countries. While smoking is a major risk factor known, much remains to be learned about other causes of this disease.
