In Greece the Social Economy sector is restricted and its development delayed to follow the evolution that noted in other developed countries. In recent years because of the changes that have occurred and the weakening of the role of the state in the context of globalization and the economic crisis, developed new organizational constructs, which are directed mainly towards the fight against poverty and social exclusion from the labor market, in the care of disable population and the provision of goods and services. One of these constructs are the Non-Governmental Organizations. The conditions that experienced the overwhelming number of citizens in recent years due to the economic crisis, rising unemployment, poverty, exclusion and increased social needs, make the action of Non-Governmental Organizations necessary. Within the Psychiatric Reform in Greece, many of the Non-Governmental Organizations that active in the field of Mental Health funded from the National Action Plan of "Psychargos", creating rehabilitation structures for de-institutionalization of chronic asylum patients living in psychiatric hospitals and community structures providing mental health services including hostels, boarding houses, apartments, Daily Care Centers etc. The Non-Governmental Association “Panhellenic Association of Adapted Activities ALMA”, constitutes such a case because through the National Action Plan of "Psychargos", developed the Mental Health Unit “Daily Care Center for Children and Adolescents with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders”. But because of the financial crisis and the imperatives of memoranda, financial support from the regular grant of the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity decreased dramatically and the implementation of programs of psychosocial rehabilitation is now on the verge of collapse.
