The geographic configuration with the multiple so called barren lines of Greece is responsible for coastal services being such a nodal factor in the cohesion of country. Consequently, the benefit and the quality of coastal services has often been the subject of research and criticism. The regulation known as cabotage, that up to a while ago allowed the privilege of offering figurative services exclusively in the under Greek flag boats was recently raised with ambiguous consequences, while the passage in the arrangement of “economic release” imposes also the regulation of objecting interests, the commercial and the public good. The need for cohesion of country which played essential role in maintaining big part of government interventionism in combination with the dulling of Greeks ship owners in the pre lifting of cabotage situation led progressively to agitations, which on one side undermine the growth of free competition, as on the other side impede the offer of really appreciable marine transports that would encourage the general social “profit”. The recording of experience of “release” is the subject of the research that follows.
