ΑερολίπανσηAbstract
Air lubrication is an innovative energy-efficiency technology applied in shipping to reduce hydrodynamic resistance and, consequently, fuel consumption and emissions. This thesis examines the main air lubrication methods – microbubble injection, bubble drag reduction (BDR), air layer drag reduction (ALDR), and partial cavity drag reduction (PCDR/ACS). The study analyzes the technical principles, subsystems, advantages, and limitations of each method. Real-world applications in the maritime industry are presented, highlighting vessels where air lubrication systems have been successfully installed, achieving proven fuel savings of 5–12%. Findings indicate that air lubrication technology is a key pillar in the green transition of shipping, significantly contributing to the reduction of the industry’s carbon footprint.
