This research examines the relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and death rates through actuarial and statistical approaches that utilize Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) data. The research starts by explaining the dataset and selecting variables before performing survival analyses through Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox Proportional Hazards models. The analysis uses educational level as a proxy for SES to show that better-educated people tend to live longer but the results do not always reach statistical significance. The research creates theoretical life tables and examines pension pricing under different mortality assumptions that consider SES factors. The paper explores implications for actuarial fairness before suggesting future research directions and policy recommendations. The study demonstrates why pension system design needs to include socioeconomic disparities to achieve fair outcomes between different population groups.
