This study presents the potentials impacts if the construction of a large hotel unit in the region of Messenia, firstly on the environmental ecosystem and secondly on the local society. The environmental impact assessment is the method that was followed regarding certain areas and sectors. Additionally, the impacts are evaluated and many tools and methods are shown in order to mitigate and alleviate the negative effects. Finally, many recommendations are proposed in order to secure improvements during the stage of construction and through the operation of the hotel, also methods are proposed for monitoring key indicators through key standards and certifications.
