This thesis conducts a thorough investigation of the Internet of Things security landscape with a primary goal of finding risks and vulnerabilities that permeate the IoT ecosystem. The goal of the research is to recommend practical safeguards and corrective procedures for the problems that have been found. The examination covers a range of IoT security topics, including vulnerable devices, authentication and access procedures, privacy issues, potential legal ramifications, and dangers related to data gathering and privacy. The application of secure design principles, strong authentication and access control mechanisms, the establishment of secure communication channels, encryption techniques, privacy-enhancing measures, security monitoring procedures, responsive strategies, and user awareness campaigns are some of the solutions put forth by this study. Real-world examples and case studies give important insights into how these security measures are applied in actual IoT deployments. In order to address new threats and assess cutting-edge security measures, the research acknowledges the limitations and scope of the conducted study and proposes possible directions for future research. It emphasizes how important it is to work together continuously, pursue ongoing research projects, and share expertise in order to strengthen the security and resilience of the IoT. For organizations, device manufacturers, service providers, and policymakers, among other stakeholders, the derived practices that result from the research findings offer helpful advice. These suggestions emphasize the value of developing strong security measures, staying aware about new threats, and adopting best practices for security in order to prevent the spread of the Internet and safeguard user data.
