The Blockchain technology sector stands to gain significantly from the advancements brought by 5G technology, which has opened new opportunities in various industrial fields. This thesis aims to explain Blockchain technology and fifth-generation (5G) network technology in the first year, followed by a detailed discussion of the positive and negative impacts arising from the combination of these two innovative technologies across various sectors and applications.
Initially, the thesis will analyze the most important technical characteristics of both Blockchain technology and 5G networks. It will explore how security and privacy in 5G networks can be enhanced by the decentralized nature of Blockchain technology and its potential to enable the development of new business models and services.
Moreover, this thesis will examine the challenges and opportunities resulting from the combination of these two technologies. It will delve into issues such as scalability, consensus mechanisms, interoperability concerns, and more.
Additionally, this research will study two real-world use cases where Blockchain can be applied in a 5G context. Finally, it will address future challenges and research directions arising from the synergy between 5G networks and Blockchain technology.
Through a review of existing literature, this thesis aims to advance knowledge on how Blockchain technology can enhance the capabilities of 5G networks and pave the way for a safer and more efficient digital future.
