This essay presents an examination of the history, implementation, and significance of digital
transformation within Greece & banking and tax systems, through the efforts, prompted by the
2008-09 economic crise, and the Covid-19 pandemic, that reshaped these sectors, focusing on the
achievements and the ongoing challenges. The study emphasizes that the digital transformation
in Greece is not merely a technological upgrade, rather, it is a comprehensive shift that affects
economic policies, administrative procedures and societal behaviors. By analyzing the historical
context [economic imperatives, social impacts, and the Covid-19 pandemic], the essay posits that
a sustainable digital future for Greece requires more than superficial changes. Instead, it is
essential to gain a comprehensive understanding of these systems can digitalization become a
seamless part of everyday life, ensuring its continued relevance and effectiveness beyond the
initial phase of transformation.
