Recognizing the inherent risks and complexities of maritime operations, the paper explores how organizational culture and leadership dynamics profoundly influence safety practices and outcomes in the maritime industry. The paper reveals that a strong safety culture, combined with effective leadership, is essential to address the complex safety challenges in maritime activities. The paper concludes that fostering a strong safety culture and developing transformational leadership is key to advancing safety standards in the shipping industry.
