dc.description.abstractENIn an era defined by digital transformation and escalating cybersecurity threats, optimizing network performance and fortifying security infrastructure are paramount for organizations. This master thesis delves into the intricacies of configuring and analyzing F5 BIG-IP, a prominent application delivery controller (ADC), to achieve these objectives. Through a meticulous examination of F5 BIG-IP's configuration options and a profound analysis of its operational data, this study aims to provide actionable insights for network administrators and security professionals. By leveraging F5 BIG-IP's capabilities in load balancing, traffic management, SSL offloading, and application security, this research endeavors to enhance network resilience, streamline operations, and bolster defenses against emerging cyber threats. Through empirical experimentation in a controlled lab environment, this thesis sheds light on best practices, common pitfalls, and optimization strategies in F5 BIG-IP deployment. Moreover, by conducting a deep analysis of operational logs and traffic patterns, this study seeks to uncover hidden trends, anomalies, and potential security vulnerabilities, thus empowering organizations to proactively safeguard their digital assets.
