The present study examines the role and application of information systems in education in Greece, focusing on the school environment and their future directions. The importance of technology in modern educational processes is highlighted, and the advantages and challenges of using information systems in schools are discussed. Statistical data resulting from the research are analyzed, focusing on the profile of educators and the use of technological tools during the educational process. Finally, the need to improve infrastructure and continuously train educators for the effective use of technological tools in teaching and managing school processes is emphasized. This research highlights the importance of technology in the educational process and proposes measures to improve the educational reality in Greece. The main conclusions of the study are as follows:
There is a positive correlation between type of school and specialization, indicating that the type of school influences the choice of specialization. Age is positively correlated with work experience but negatively correlated with technological proficiency, suggesting that older individuals may have less proficiency in using technology. Experience in using educational technology systems is positively correlated with satisfaction with these systems, emphasizing the importance of experience in user satisfaction. Level of education is positively associated with the desire for further education and ease of information retrieval, indicating that higher levels of education encourage skill development and access to information. Training in information and communication technologies is linked to a desire for education in the use of educational information systems, highlighting the importance of prior experience in education. These conclusions underscore the significance of work experience, education, and experience in technology use in education and how these factors influence perceptions and behaviors within the educational sector.
