This academic paper explores the relationship between vaccination and mainstream and non-dominant attitudes expressed by citizens towards this practice, with a particular emphasis on the period of the pandemic and how it affected these views. The vaccine is discussed, its history, data concerning Greece and the European Union, and the importance of vaccination coverage is explained with real examples. Then the attitudes of citizens about vaccination and the factors that may have an effect on it are analyzed. The phenomenon of the anti-vaccination movement and its characteristics are examined, and finally, the vaccination data during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the policy of the Greek state, are analyzed. The paper is structured as a literature review, which includes a comprehensive analysis of existing research studies and real data on the topic. In the second part, empirical research is carried out on the subject,, regarding the opinions on vaccination, using interviews to collect the information. Key findings from the survey are presented, including demographics, knowledge, and opinions on general vaccination as well as vaccination against COVID-19.
