Production planning is one of the most common places where management science models and techniques are applied. The problem that arises from the outset is the need for frequent review in terms of production planning and the general management of production systems. The reason is simple: production systems are not only objects of scientific research, they are constantly rich in new discoveries, but also directly accept the consequences of the great changes occurring in the world (mainly technical, but also social, political, economic and commercial). To survive, especially in conditions of fierce competition, they must adapt to these changes. Therefore, their management methods need to evolve to respond to the new structures and functions of the systems that produce all kinds of markets and supply products and services.
The dramatic changes that have occurred in recent years in the world have brought about corresponding changes in the production systems and their management methods, as they have created new conditions and new needs for their organization and operation. The modern business environment is characterized by constantly renewed products, but new markets, new ways of information and communication, new supply networks, new tools and systems that support the maintenance of production systems are constantly appearing. The analysis and design of an MRP system in production planning in a copper tube production industry will be studied here.
