This thesis addresses the complex issue of the impact of climate change on human health and the development of medical technology to deal with it. Starting with the human contribution on climate change, present here are the factors that have historically led humanity to the point of threatening itself through catastrophic climate phenomena. It has been developed how dynamic climate changes lead to unprecedented behaviors both in ecosystems and in humans. The vulnerability of humans versus their exposure to multiple climate-related threats has been studied along with the effects of this on both physical, mental health and mortality levels. In deeper analysis, types of diseases have been developing that vary around the world with their roots been in the climate change and the alteration of the fauna with its consequences on an individual as well as a social level. Finally, a projection of the evolution of healthcare to date is presented along with the long-term bets in the next year’s period. Some interesting inputs from companies active in the field are also included and emphasis is placed on the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of medical technology and how it contributes to the challenges that society will keep facing.
