The purpose of my thesis is to highlight the importance of the institution of arbitration in energy disputes, emphasizing both the European and the Greek institutional legislative framework that governs the energy sector. Of particular interest, with regard to the institution of arbitration on energy disputes in Greece, is the constant interaction of internal and international legislation, a fact that emerges from the cases analyzed in this thesis decided by the Greek arbitration courts, while the relationship between energy arbitration and international investment arbitration also plays an equally important role in this interaction. In addition, emphasis is placed on the permanent arbitration of RAE and the remarkable work it has accomplished since its establishment, with a special mention of the first arbitral decision within the framework of the permanent arbitration of Regulatory Authority for Energy. Finally, reference is made to the new Law 5016/2023 on International Commercial Arbitration, which from its entry into force repeals the previous Law 2735/1999, as it was judged that most of its provisions are outdated and do not correspond to modern developments in the field of international commercial arbitration and at the same time the new law establishes a new, modern, unified legal framework for the conduct of international arbitrations.
