Abstract
The literature has proven that distance education, or at least its first forms, emerged many
years ago in an attempt to supplement and enrich traditional teaching. The coronavirus
pandemic brought to the fore this new form of education and the issue of communication
between teachers and students in this new context.
The present study examines the issue of communication both through the lens of the
technical means used and through the human factor himself, the teacher, who had to adjust
both verbal and non-verbal communication with his students, as and its importance for both
the learning and the psychology of his students.
The study was based on Greek and foreign language bibliography, which also includes
modern magazines for open and distance education with rich articles. Then empirical research
was carried out through a sample of teachers using a questionnaire. In this research, emphasis
was placed on how easy or difficult this communication was, as well as the factors that helped
or hindered it. Then with the help of google forms the results were extracted. Finally, the
conclusions from both the research and the entire diplomatic work were formulated.
