The present study is entitled "The effect of the decision-making process by school leadership and organizational support on teachers' job satisfaction" and aims to investigate the opinions and beliefs of secondary school teachers in Greece regarding the effect of the style that the manager makes decisions and the culture of organizational support in the feeling of satisfaction from their work. The central issue is part of the wider scientific interest in the satisfaction of employees in organizations in general and teachers in school organizations in general. In any case, it is part of a current dialectic about the need to modernize, not only the educational system as such, but also the role played by all those involved in the school reality.
The concept of job satisfaction among teachers is undoubtedly related to their effectiveness, the efficiency of the school unit and the quality of the educational services provided. Therefore, it is reduced to a decisive element for strengthening the professional status of teachers in the modern, pluralistic and technologically supported environment. In this transition of the teacher's role from the static "yesterday" to the ever-changing "tomorrow", the principal is a catalytic helper, who is equally called upon to carry out his multi-prismatic task. With his positive and creative motivation and practical support, with his decisions, the conditions that affect climate, organizational support, cooperation and interaction, reciprocity and support are formed. By extension, with its decisions, the school management regulates how satisfied or dissatisfied a teacher feels with his work, how productive he will be in it and how much he will contribute to the achievement of the goals of the school unit.
In the framework of the project, qualitative research was conducted with the participation of secondary school teachers. The interview tool using a semi-structured question questionnaire was chosen for data collection. The results showed a loose relationship between the decision-making process implemented by the school leadership and teachers' job satisfaction, while at the same time there were findings about the relevance of decision-making style, leadership style and organizational support with "background" the job satisfaction of the teachers.
