Covid restrictions in our country combined with the progress of educational technology during the last years, have led to establishing distance learning as an alternative solution, in order for education to be continued in alternative ways. The objective of this research is to evaluate the educational platforms that have been used during distance learning and their effectiveness, according to teachers’ opinions. First of all, a review was conducted on the implementation of distance education, the existing educational platforms and relevant law. The research took place between February and March 2022, using a google forms questionnaire that was answered by 100 primary school educators.
The results of the research showed that teachers’ levels of technological competence affect as much the difficulties they faced during distance education, as the effectiveness and usefulness of educational platforms that educators experienced. Despite of the difficulties teachers faced, as the lack of technological equipment and quiet personal space or internet connection problems, eventually the educational goals were accomplished, though without students’ interest and cooperation maintenance. Even though the high level of usefulness and effectiveness of educational platforms for distance education, the majority of teachers chooses not to adopt them these days in contact teaching, but only in a few certain circumstances.
