This Master Thesis attempts to study Artificial Intelligence and its contribution to the 4th Industrial Revolution. In particular, artificial intelligence, the benefits associated with it, and the modern challenges associated with it are extensively studied. Then, we talk about the 4th Industrial Revolution, which analyzes the transition from the 1st to the 4th Industrial Revolution, as well as the priorities set within it, but also the current policies. In addition, the connection of Artificial Intelligence with the 4th Industrial Revolution is studied, where applications of Artificial Intelligence in the 4th Industrial Revolution are examined in detail.
Regarding the research part of the Thesis, it was studied in which industrial activities the economic agents incorporate the Artificial Intelligence, as well as in which research and development activities the economic agents incorporate the Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, the research focused on investigating the existence of correlations between the individual variables of the sample and the way in which they influence the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the two sub-activities. The results of this survey showed that the level of economic growth of a country affects the emphasis given to artificial intelligence. The importance given to artificial intelligence is positively affected by the percentage of businesses aged 11-20 and 21-99 years, the percentage of large and very large enterprises, as well as by the proportion of companies operating in the research and innovation sector Tainted. On the other hand, it is adversely affected by the percentage of small businesses.
