The title of the master's thesis presented is: "The role of NATO in the fight against terrorism: From 11/9/01 until 2012". More specifically, the focus is on two important issues that are of particular concern to the modern world and further developments at the international level. The topic is divided into two sections, the first of which is related to the clarification of terms and the second extends from September 11 2001 to 2012. On the topic of Terrorism, a historical review is made and then its modern forms that have occupied most all over the world. It then analyzes NATO and its positions before the 9/11 attacks.
In the second section, NATO positions continue from this date until 2012. Key moves are highlighted in detail, such as the Prague Summit and the new data that characterize NATO. Also mentioned are the new policies pursued by NATO and the New Military Doctrine, as well as the operation to deal with Osama bin Laden, as well as the Military Intervention in Libya until the developments of 2012.
