Migration is a complex phenomenon that affects not only people who move from one country to another, but also the communities of departure and destination. "Migrant" and "refugee", two distinct concepts in international bibliography and practice, constitute crucial points of reference in integration policies. The EC/EU has been dealing with policies relating to the mobility of persons since its inception. But the recent refugee crisis made many European countries to consider the integration of refugees, through their social mechanisms, a huge challenge. The sociology of education helps us explore the ways in which education and social mechanisms interact and influence the position of individuals within groups. Given the dimension of multiculturalism that characterizes today’s EU, the concept of interculturality, that is to say a dynamic relationship of cultures, is a focal point for Education and the design of educational programs that are related with integration policies and aim at the integration of refugee children. This postgraduate thesis focuses on educational programs developed in the EU and Greece, operating within the framework of refugee structures and contributing to the educational integration of refugee students.
