Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present Corporate Social Responsibility, its areas and axes in the context of the Enterprises operations and how CSR is related with Bioeconomy, as well as the shaping of the demanding need in recent years for businesses to shift from their traditional ways of operating to more social responsibly behaviors. The actions that CSR businesses can develop, which are in parallel with Bioeconomy’s principals as they share the same goals, are illustrated so as; first, to approach environmentally sustainable management of natural resources by devising alternatives to mitigate ecological disasters and climate impacts, and second, for their internal environment to create a sense of job satisfaction for the directly concerned individuals (employees) and furthermore, a more quality workplace that will be a 'sustainable' environment and consequently create a rewarding relationship, that will also result in an increase in the individuals’ productivity and, in conclusion, an increase in overall business profits. The methodology followed was the collection and selection of data from foreign and Greek bibliographies, scientific publications, electronic press and online websites.
