Globalization and the intense international competition of the last decades, have transformed the traditional substance of economic units as autonomous entities with discrete functions. The new economic conditions combined with the development of information technology, redefined the business model as a supply chain (supply chain) of cooperating than competing businesses. Awareness of this fact has led to the development of the theory of supply chain management and in shaping a cognitive object, multi-scale and views but also increased usefulness both for contemporary economy and the science of organization and management of enterprises. The use of applications about Warehouse Administration become necessary when the structures of the warehouses of the company are complex, and when is needed the direct, efficient and detailed supply chain management in the area of warehouses.
The aim of this thesis is to achieve stability of ABC classification in the context of an automobile factory. Inventory management approach ABC includes a variety of practices with which various items (different SKUs) within a warehouse are grouped and varying degrees of attention are paid to the management of stocks for those various product groups. The stability achieved after three consecutive attempts, using as a basic tool of comparison and inference Category Rotation Matrix. In the first attempt the grouping of codes based on qualitative characteristics is made, in the second attempt the boundaries that define the three categories of classification method are changed, while in the third attempt takes place the combination of both previous tests.
Based on the results, the second effort is qualified, scoring the highest rates of stability between the periods of study. Furthermore, it is proposed as a reasonable solution the monitoring of stocks depending on the significance of the materials in three times for category A, two for the B and one for the category C over a period of one year. In conclusion, it is performed the way of achieving stability through successive iterations of ABC classification method.
