Η ευρωπαϊκή Σύμβαση-Πλαίσιο για τα δικαιώματα των εθνικών μειονοτήτων: η περίπτωση των μειονοτικών δικαιωμάτων στην εκπαίδευση
Minority rights are human rights. The Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is the first official document in use for the protection of national minorities. A basic category of minority rights is the one concerning the field of education. The present dissertation focuses on both defining the basic educational rights as stipulated in the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and their implementation success in terms of contracting parties. More specifically, the Articles on the field of education are thoroughly examined as well as the way in which minority rights are safeguarded in the wider social and educational context. Finally, an attempt is made to co-relate the educational framework to the social context given the fact that there appear to be linguistic impediments that extend the goals of the Council of Europe concerning the potential of minority groups to enjoy all human rights.
