Maritime transport is vital for Europe because European shipping contributes to European economic development and strengthens the strategic power and negotiating strength towards international organizations. Therefore the security, competitiveness and shielding maritime transport are a key priority for the European Union. Due to the above has introduced a wide range of policies regulating the operation of the maritime industry at both national and European level. At the same time they created several thermal organizations whose primary purpose proper application and formulation of these policies. This paper examines the existing European maritime policies and their respective shipping organizations, taking into account the dynamic nature of these policies and the influence of the environment and proper maritime training in their configuration.
