Abstract

Prediction of future rates considered of paramount importance in economic instability that exists worldwide. The issue addressed by this paper is to answer the question whether the rates of charter could predict future rates on the spot market. This research aims to clarify the above questions based on historical data. In the meanwhile, the majority of the publicly available international and Greek bibliography was reviewed. Expanding the research framework, it was evident the effort to compare daily charter rates and equivalent spot market rates.
