Abstract

In the present study we analyzed the main methods of financing of the shipping business today. Thus, it proved the many different ways and methods, which are available to these companies today, providing them considerable flexibility in choosing the appropriate method depending on the circumstances of each time. In addition, reference was made to the track and the importance of control has, whether it is foreign, interior or state control for the efficient operation of maritime businesses, with particular base in the necessity of these controls. In conclusion, the main conclusion that can be drawn from this work is the need for shipping companies today to be more flexible regarding the piece of choice of financing methods, using appropriate methods of financing per case, so on the one hand to promote faster their development policy and on the other hand to avoid unpleasant consequences (like the refusal of a request for a bank loan), which will delay the whole operation.
