This thesis analyses the concepts of good faith and sudden change in the treaties as they can be found in Greek and English legal system. Using theoretical approach and examples from judicial practice, we examine the meaning, scope, conditions and effects of application of the aforementioned concepts, and we also make an attempt to compare the Greek to English law, in the application of these concepts. Furthermore, there is an analysis of the effects of good faith in credit contracts and also in shipping contracts and procedures. The main conclusion is the diversification of the Greek concept of good faith from the corresponding English as the Greek litigation authority is amplified with the additional capability to edify any contract, bypassing, in exceptional cases, the principle of Pacta Sund Servanda, fundamental and inviolable concept of the English legal system.
